Headjam, a graphic design firm located in Australia, is just one of the many design agencies I truly admire. Their website and portfolio is outstanding, including their collection of service videos such as the one listed above. The clean, minimalism approach keeps the audience alert as they manipulate their visual senses and engage in an in-depth auditorial examination of what graphic design is all about.

I have always used art as a means of communication, a way to express my emotions and escape from my surroundings.  It was a naturally occurring relationship, one that came to me at a very young age. After digging deep into copywriting as a graphic design and marketing coordinator this past year, I am happy to say I have gained a new source of personal expression, creative writing. 

It only seems fitting to begin my first blog with a topic of conversation that exists before this very page, my very own website.  Over the course of the last two weeks I have slaved away day in and day out as I collected imagery, wrote content, and defined myself as a designer and entrepreneur. I knew I always wanted to open my own business one day, but never took the free time to make something of it. In the past I was told I need to build myself, my brand, and my experience before taking that leap of faith. While I have much to learn and a lot more experience I finally asked myself, why wait? Who says I can't dedicate my time to a successful company and begin to build my reputation with freelancing projects in my spare time?  All it takes is a vision, determination, dedication, and a course of action that will keep me balanced.

 First step first was the website. It has been a great learning experience - one that has already taught me how valuable my time is, how crucial file organization can be, and most importantly, how every great accomplishment starts with the decision to try.
